Spread the love

A creature from ancient stories.  Appears to be something of a small monkey or lemur-like animal.  Lives in some temperate forest in the Demi Plane.  Has the ability to look into a person’s mind and see what the person finds to be funny.  Then, the Akumbala will make those funny things happen and exaggerates them, sometimes to the point the humorous thing kills the person (this is unintentional).  It is said that if one does not play with the Akumbala it will weep and great storms will roll thru the forest and one may succumb to their might.  Those who have escaped the Akumbala report either placating the little fellow with adequate play; fleeing the forest as quickly as possible; somehow managing to survive the onslaught of whimsy-made-real.

“ . . . it was a whiteout of non-stop, god damn, ping pong balls.  I had lost track of time but it seemed like I was trudging thru ping pong balls, waist-high, for at least a half an hour.  The little shit was laughing its ass off, doing the backstroke in the air next to me.  Then came the crème pies, giant crème pies, their diameters as long as I was tall.  At least they didn’t come with the pie tins or that would have been the end of me.” – Mathew Serig
